I used this recipe as a guide

I love glazed ham it is always delicious and there are so many ways to make it but I must admit this is probably the best I’ve ever made I used the recipe above as a starting point. But for the boiling stage I just put it in a low oven for a hour and 20 mins in a water bath I also studded it with cloves

I have used pretty much the same recipe but in the slow cooker but I much prefer the finish in the oven as you get the real sticky slightly crunchy bits on top … my fave.

As I said I have used the glaze above but I’ve found that a mix of Dijon mustard, brown sugar ,maple syrup and a good splash of hot sauce really works for my taste.

Of course Ham is amazing on a dinner this was my New years Dinner plate, but the actual best thing about this ham to me is the leftovers and there are so many options but my absolute favourite thing is a simple ham sandwich on really good crusty bread with French salted butter and big chunky slices of ham so good . But you could also add it to

Pasta or soup it’s so versatile…

and of course if you have a little furry friend they will probably be very interested in what you’re making and might get a tiny piece of ham but extra treats for being a good kitchen helper

Here are some ideas to help make this fantastic Ham .

A good meat thermometer is a definite must

This Pyrex roasting dish is super useful

My favourite hot sauce that I use on everything…
